Jacob Stenstrom joined the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) team in 2019, and currently serves as a Research Assistant. Mr. Stenstrom assists with data analysis for projects across CREC and assists with the Council for Community and Economic Research’s (C2ER) product development and marketing efforts.
Primarily, Mr. Stenstrom supports the Cost of Living Index, which reports data from over 250 cities across the United States. In support of the Cost of Living Index, he collects and analyzes data to ensure accurate results that are up to the standards of CREC and its customers. Additionally, Mr. Stenstrom combs through states’ budget document documents and agency websites to aid in keeping CREC’s State Expenditure and Business Incentives Databases up to date. He also contributes the creation of promotional videos that have been used to supplement CREC conferences.
Initially, Mr. Stenstrom joined CREC as an intern prior to moving into a full-time role as a Research Assistant. Previously, he worked as an intern at Internal Revenue Service: Criminal Investigation, where he gained experience with data and policy analysis, as well as, knowledge of government agency reporting, process, and service.
Mr. Stenstrom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
