Project Profile

Workforce Information Council Customer Consultation Study Group Phase II

The Workforce Information Council
Start Date: Apr 2013 — End Date: Sep 2013

Building upon work previously conducted to complete the report LMI Customers and Their Needs: Customer-Oriented LMI Product Innovation, CREC, acting on behalf of the LMI Institute, continued its work with the Customer Consultation Study Group of the Workforce Information Council. Institute staff conducted a planning session with Study Group members to identify which key customer groups from the previous report will be selected for increased qualitative research. The Study Group chose Economic Development Professionals, Workforce Intermediaries and Educators. Institute staff identified appropriate venues to conduct representative focus groups with customers.

After organizing, planning and conducting the focus groups, Institute staff produced a report documenting the customer feedback. In addition, Institute staff conducted a listening session with LMI Directors to understand the wide variety of ways in which state labor market information agencies provide tailored services to the three identified customer groups.
