Framework for Increasing Post-secondary Educational Attainment through Improved Education and Workforce Data

George Washington University Institute of Public Policy
Start Date: Dec 2013 — End Date: Apr 2015

In collaboration with George Washington Institute of Public Policy (GWIPP), CREC assisted in identifying and cataloging profiles on public and private data sources that support the education and workforce data system.  The resulting profiles highlighted data available from several federal agencies, including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Employment and Training Administration, and the National Center on Education Statistics.  The project team prepared a matrix of data sources and common uses.  The team also prepared profiles on 33 different private sector data providers that currently provide relevant information for education and workforce development or that have the potential to be valuable resources.  In addition, CREC provided technical assistance to Lumina staff on how best to use data in their policy decisions and project implementation as well as monitored the most relevant developments impacting the federal statistical system.
