Upper Rio Grande Workforce Development Board
Start Date: Jan 2008 — End Date: Jan 2015

C2ER/CREC, in collaboration with Workforce Strategy Center, conducted a workforce needs assessment as the foundation for a regional workforce strategy for the Upper Rio Grande Region.

The assessment focused on the workforce needs for key industries growing in the region, including the significant opportunities being created as a result of the planned expansion at Fort Bliss, the development of a new medical school, the transformation of international trucking and related distribution activities at the border crossing, the growth of homeland security along the US-Mexico border, as well as a variety of entrepreneurial opportunities in the surrounding rural region.
