July 12, 2016

Jennie Allison attended the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE) Survey Methods Symposium hosted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in Washington, D.C.

The Symposium was a full-day event during which, federal agencies and private-sector companies shared information about their methods and experiences in survey design and consumer-expenditure related initiatives.

The Cost of Living Index (COLI) published by the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) employs weighted modeling based on data extracted from the BLS Consumer Expenditure Survey.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor is the principal Federal agency responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions, and price changes in the economy.
