In July, 2015, the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) was procured by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to:

  • Assess existing programs, processes, and practices
  • Assist in reconnecting programs
  • Help build greater confidence in the corporation’s capabilities among stakeholders
CREC is an independent not-for-profit that partners with global policymakers to research, help formulate, and execute on innovative methods that ensure job creation and long-term regional economic sustainability. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) leads economic development efforts for the state by advancing Wisconsin’s business climate. Together with more than 600 regional and local business development partners, it represents a highly responsive and coordinated network.
